Damascena Rose Petals by Daphnis and Chloe come from small organic plantations in the region of Kozani in northern Greece, an area known for cultivating some of the finest roses in Europe. The harvest takes place during a remarkably short flowering season each spring, typically between April and early May.

To preserve the roses at their most fragrant and vibrant, farmers begin harvesting before dawn. Each flower is picked by hand on the day it fully opens, before the morning sun reaches the petals. This careful timing helps protect the delicate aromatic compounds naturally present in the rose blossoms.

The harvest is highly labor-intensive. Fields are visited repeatedly throughout the flowering period, with each newly opened blossom gathered individually at the ideal moment. Once collected, the petals are dried naturally in the shade, a traditional process that helps retain their colour, aroma, and delicate character without the use of artificial treatments.

Free from pesticides, artificial fragrances, colourants, and synthetic additives, these Damascena rose petals offer a pure expression of one of the world's most prized flowers. Their gentle floral aroma makes a delicate herbal tea, while the petals can also be used to flavour desserts, syrups, jams, and baked goods.

100% dried Damascena rose petals from Kozani, Greece.

Preparation

For tea, infuse 1 tablespoon per cup in water at 90°C for 5 minutes, then strain and serve. Each bag yields approximately 20 cups.

Store in a dark and dry place.
