Where It All Began
A story that goes beyond food
To eat well is to live well
Most of what I know about food, I learned from my Latvian grandfather. For him, food was never just sustenance but indulgence, ritual, and one of life’s greatest joys — a way of travelling with the senses. Some of my most vivid childhood memories are tied to food: freshly smoked fish by the Baltic Sea, sun-warmed tomatoes from our garden, my first taste of caviar from the local market, or a loaf of rye bread spread thick with butter. He knew how to enjoy it, and he did it well.
But it wasn’t only about taste. It was about ritual: a beautifully set table, good manners, no distractions, and conversations that made every meal meaningful. Weekend visits to the farmers’ market, basket in hand, were a cherished tradition — bringing home seasonal, high-quality produce and celebrating the abundance of each harvest. From learning the art of preserving to recognising that every ingredient has its perfect time and place, I grew up with a deep respect for the rhythm of nature. And even on the busiest days, food was never to be neglected — because in the end, it is one of life’s purest pleasures.

This food philosophy stayed with me when I left my home country to follow love and pursue a career across continents. But I quickly realized that the artisan, seasonal food I grew up with—crafted with respect for nature and the people behind it—was becoming harder and harder to find.
Supermarkets presented a distorted reality, offering perfectly shaped but flavorless strawberries in January, shelves full of industrially processed spices with additives, and beautifully marketed products with unknown, opaque origins.
People seem more disconnected from their food than ever before, and the consequences are everywhere: a broken food system, worsening human health, and an escalating climate crisis.

As my frustration grew, so did my desire to create change. In 2024, my husband Marcis and I founded Gourmie Goods with a clear mission: to bring more transparency to the food system and help people reconnect with the origins of their food—for a healthier, more sustainable future.
Our purpose is to bring exceptional products from Europe’s best producers and artisans into the heart of modern, fast-paced life.
At Gourmie Goods, we empower home cooks and mindful eaters to rediscover real, nutrient-rich food—without giving up the convenience they need.

Every product we offer comes directly from artisans who share our values
Crafted with integrity, rooted in seasonality, and made with respect for nature, every product reflects the care and skill of its maker.
From olive oil pressed just moments after harvest to locally fermented kombucha and single-origin chocolate—each product tells a story of place, people, and craftsmanship.
Every bite connects you to its origin and reminds you of what real food should be: nutrient-rich, full of flavor, and pure.

Gourmie Goods was born out of frustration and a personal desire for better food, but it has grown into something much bigger—a movement to bring honest, real food back to the center of modern life.
We invite you to be part of this food revolution: reconnect with the true origins of your food and join the shift toward a better, more sustainable food system.
Eat well,
