Product details

Daphnis and Chloe’s Greek oregano comes from a handful of mountain farms in Greece. At these high altitudes, cool nights and strong sunshine help concentrate the essential oils responsible for the herb’s intense fragrance.

Only the finest part of each harvest is selected for the bouquets. Care begins in the field: harvesters carefully cut the thick, woody stems and lay them neatly on shaded drying beds, keeping the branches intact.

The dried stems arrive at Daphnis and Chloe largely untouched and are carefully assembled into bouquets by hand. The work requires such precision that each skilled worker produces only around fifteen bouquets per hour.

Keeping the leaves on their branches allows them to be crumbled just before cooking, releasing a stronger, richer aroma than pre-crushed oregano. A tall, airtight glass jar helps preserve this intensity between uses.
