Product details

Daphnis and Chloe’s pennyroyal mint comes from a farm near Parga in northwestern Greece, where it grows wild. Only a few kilos are harvested each year, exclusively for Daphnis and Chloe.

The whole stems, complete with leaves and blossoms, are then trimmed by hand in small batches to preserve their intense aroma. This mint has a powerful floral fragrance, a gentle cooling character and a subtle sweetness that distinguishes it from many other mint varieties.

Prized in ancient Greece and Rome, pennyroyal mint was used to season food and flavour wine. Its popularity gradually faded over the centuries, and it is now rarely found. Its purple blossoms and aromatic leaves make a fragrant herbal infusion with a distinctive floral freshness.

Ingredients

100% dried pennyroyal mint (leaves and blossoms) from the Parga region, Greece.

Preparation

For tea, pour water heated to 90–95 °C over one teaspoon per cup. Steep for five to six minutes, then strain and serve. Enjoy plain or lightly sweetened with honey.

Store in a dark and dry place.
