La Guaca is a standout filter coffee from Costa Rica’s Chirripó region, produced by the Ureña Rojas family at their renowned micromill Café Rivense. This sealed-fermentation Red Honey Catuai is vibrant and elegant, with tropical fruit, ripe yellow plum, and a gentle floral finish. Every step of production happens on the family farm — from hand-picking the cherries to processing, drying, and preparation for export — resulting in clarity, precision, and traceability in every cup. Sourced through 88 Graines, this is one of Swerl’s favourite coffees each year and a filter roast not to miss.

Founded by Beatriz, a trained sommelier, and Daniel, an aircraft technician, the journey began in 2018 during a year in New Zealand — where they first discovered the depth of specialty coffee and the community surrounding it.
