Collection: Swerl

Swerl is a micro roastery shaped by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for great coffee. Founded by Beatriz, a trained sommelier, and Daniel, an aircraft technician, the journey began in 2018 during a year in New Zealand — where they first discovered the depth of specialty coffee and the community surrounding it. That spark became the foundation for Swerl.

In 2019, the couple launched their first mobile coffee bar in a converted 1972 Mercedes bus on the beaches of Falkenberg. Through summers in Sweden and winters in Lisbon, they refined their understanding of sourcing, roasting, and quality — guided by leading roasteries and producers across Europe.

The real transformation began in 2021 with the purchase of a 15 kg Giesen roaster and, shortly after, the opening of their own roastery. With Daniel’s technical background and Beatriz’s sensory precision, Swerl built a roasting approach grounded in consistency, transparency, and respect for origin. Their close relationships with producers — from Costa Rica to Burundi and Ethiopia — ensure each lot expresses its terroir, seasonality, and unique processing character.

As their volumes grew, Swerl invested in better infrastructure, including a color sorter for improved precision, and expanded into a larger roasting facility near the harbour in Falkenberg — only steps away from where their first coffee bus once stood. In 2024, Swerl was ranked 47th in the Top 100 Specialty Coffee Roasters by Roastful, and in 2025 they placed 2nd in Nordic’s Best Roasters, confirming their position among Europe’s most exciting modern roasters.

Today, Swerl continues to evolve as a team of three, focused entirely on sourcing and roasting exceptional seasonal coffees. Their coffees are served in cafés around the world, always with the same intention: to share transparent, relationship-driven, consistently outstanding lots that honour the producers behind them.
