Collection: Ocelot

Ocelot Chocolate combines culinary artistry, ethical sourcing, and striking design. Founded in 2013 by husband-and-wife duo Ish and Matt Broadbent, their journey into chocolate began as chefs. Leaving their salaried jobs, they started in their home kitchen with a simple chocolate tempering machine bought with their wedding gift money. Selling the first bars at local farmers’ markets, they built a loyal following, eventually moving into a factory with a small production team. However, ambitious expansion and the financial turmoil of 2022 led to their downfall. Fortunately, their long-time supplier, Original Beans, stepped in, taking over the business and investing in a new facility and production team in Dundee, Scotland. Today, Ocelot produces around 3,000 craft chocolate bars a week, loved worldwide for their distinctive, ethically sourced single-origin flavors.

Thanks to Original Beans—a pioneer in regenerative, rare, and fair cacao sourcing—Ocelot ensures fair wages for cocoa farmers and supports rainforest conservation. Their chocolate is made with rare heirloom cacao, much of which was once on the brink of extinction, primarily sourced from a pioneering women-led cooperative in Virunga, East Congo.

Ocelot bars use organic, high-quality ingredients, free from emulsifiers, lecithins, and preservatives. Several of their chocolates are made in collaboration with local artisans like Wild Hearth Bakery and Blackthorn Sea Salt. With playful flavors like buckwheat, lemon olive oil, blood orange, and black cherry, Ocelot redefines the chocolate experience. Wrapped in plastic-free, hand-designed packaging, their bars are as much a treat for the palate as for the eyes.

Through traceable cocoa sourcing, bold flavors, and standout design, Ocelot has carved out a unique space in the craft chocolate world. Every bite is a testament to their mission to change chocolate for the better.
